The tablet volume should be set to maximum to ensure new order alerts are not missed. To verify this:   

• Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Android apps menu
• Select the Settings icon 
• Tap Sound & Vibration
• Move the sliders for Media volume, Notification volume and Alarm volume to the far right
